Information about Heena

Hi, my name is Heena. I have just completed my third year studying Economics at UCL. During Summer 2021, I successfully achieved 2 A*s and 1 A in A-Level Maths, History, and Economics, respectively.

Throughout that summer, I worked at a tuition centre, tutoring students aged 5 to 16. I also led maths intervention classes for Year 11 GCSE students and have accumulated 2 years of private tutoring experience, including AS/A-Level mathematics.

Having struggled with mathematics when growing up, I understand the challenges students face when tackling topics. I use my extensive knowledge of the subject to help them overcome these difficulties. In my tutoring sessions, I always adopt a friendly approach to ensure that students feel comfortable asking questions, which helps them comprehend the topics being taught. I guide students wherever they need support, whether it’s on a particular topic or on exam practice and technique. I reassure my students that asking questions is a powerful tool and should be seen as a way to strengthen their understanding.

In the first lesson, I will assess the stage your child is currently at. I will also ask the child about the teaching methods they find most helpful, whether that be through written explanations, exam practice, or repeated verbal examples.

I ensure my lessons are interactive and engaging, making maths more accessible and enjoyable. I focus on ensuring students understand the underlying concepts and delve deeper into the subject. Having recently finished school myself, I believe I can relate well to students, making tutoring more comfortable for them.

I am always happy to answer questions outside of lessons, whether it`s with homework or any particular topics the student needs extra support with.

Thank you,
Heena
