I am an experienced French teacher with detailed up-to-date knowledge of the AS and A level specification and knowledge of the GCSE specification. I am a head of department in a sixth form college and have extensive knowledge of the A level curriculum. I can really make a difference to A Level and GCSE grades.
I know how individualised teaching and support help a learner improve their understanding, knowledge and confidence. I tutor through focused one-to-one support with learners, and tailor each lesson to the particular needs of a learner to optimise the impact of the tuition: A learner should feel the improvements within a few lessons and this improvement should steadily increase.
I have particularly positive feedback from students regarding improving essay writing skills; preparing for speaking exams; grammatical knowledge; and how to tackle translations. I have a lot of experience in helping students prepare for exams and identifying and focusing on those elements of the exam which will have the greatest impact on grade improvement. All of my A level tutees achieved A and A* grades in their exams in 2018 and 2019, one achieving an A grade from an earlier prediction of a C grade.
