I am an Oxford music graduate (First Class), a qualified teacher (PGCE), and hold a PhD in Musicology. I teach a range of musical disciplines including academic music (GCSE, A Level and degree level), piano, music theory, music technology and composition. I also offer Oxbridge preparation sessions and personal statement support. My academic interests span all areas of music, with particular focuses in composition and music history/appraising.

I hold a First Class degree in Music from the University of Oxford, a Masters in Composition with Distinction from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, and a PhD in Musicology from the University of Leeds. I am a qualified teacher with a PGCE in Secondary Music ("Outstanding") from the University of Buckingham, and hold an Associate Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy (AFHEA). I attained A* A* A in my A Levels (Music, Religious Studies and English Literature). I am the author of peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapters, and have presented at multiple international conferences.

In addition to teaching and tutoring, I am an award-winning composer of music for theatre, film and the concert hall. My music has been heard in venues including Wigmore Hall, the Barbican, LSO St Luke`s and Abbey Road and Maida Vale Studios, and has been performed by ensembles including the BBC Singers, EXAUDI, PlusMinus Ensemble, the New Music Players and the Cavaleri Quartet.

Experience: I have taught in a range of independent and state schools across the UK, most recently leading the music department in a large sixth form college. I currently teach courses on Musicology at the University of Leeds and undertake music tuition and consultancy work for a number of international education firms. I am a GCSE Music examiner and have worked on education projects for the Barbican`s Creative Learning division, the One Foundation and Oxfordshire County Music Service.
