I am a freelance linguist with a a BA in Contemporary European Languages (French and Spanish) and am a member of the Chartered Institute of Linguists in London (CIOL).

I offer French and Spanish tuition to all learners of all levels, and tailor lessons accordingly around the needs and desires of every individual learner.

My lessons suit any student who needs help with their work, anybody looking to learn either language from scratch or for an advanced speaker who wants to sharpen their skills, I enjoy helping any learner to reach their goal. Making each lesson as fun, diverse and engaging as possible is my speciality, far from the often mundane confines of academic language courses.

As a tutor, I offer the strongest passion for the subjects I teach and the commitment to understanding and accommodating each student`s specific reasons and interests in learning French and Spanish. My lessons are engaging and diverse and I cover all elements- reading, writing, listening and speaking- in equal measure, regardless of the theme or topic.

Experience: Over several years I have had the pleasure of teaching a diverse range of students of all ages and levels, each with their own goals, desires and needs for learning French and Spanish. I have been giving private tuition for several years now as a supplement to my freelance translation work.

My first foray into tutoring began many years ago at university, during which time I gave regular one-on-one English tuition to foreign exchange students at the University of Southampton as an extracurricular activity. Following many years of working solely within the realm of translation, I decided to diversify into tutoring as the perfect opportunity to pass on my language knowledge and experience to new learners.

My philosophy is simple: any topic a student wants to cover, however much time they wish to spend on it, whatever their reasons for learning either language, my goal is to get their French and Spanish level to where they want it to be.
