I am a graduate with a BA (hons) Humanities degree in English Language and Creative Writing and am a published writer of science fiction,horror and fantasy short stories.I am also a trained proofreader and editor - I worked in-house at Trinity Mirror from 1998-20009, when I was made redundant,so I also offer a proofreading/editing/ghostwriting service at £10 an hour.
In June 2018, I qualified as a teacher of English as a foreign language (TEFL)
My approach is to present the student with a picture/pictures of fantasy art and ask them to write a story, based on their interpretation of it; I then point out errors in their spelling, grammar etc. while the student (hopefully) is not aware of it, so, in effect, I am using creative writing as a `Trojan horse` - it also appeals to their sense of creativity.
Availability: I am available most hours after school - 16.00- 19.00,Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturday afternoons, if needed. Enquiries regarding online lessons especially welcome.
