Primary school teacher 7yrs experience.
Willing to tutor p1-7 in literacy and maths. Will work 1:1 or in small groups. Trained in England and originally from Rep. of Ireland. Have experience teaching children doing key stage 1 Sats.

I am very creative and believe that children learn most from focussed, practical tasks and then a number of opportunities to apply their learning.
In teaching literacy, I feel that keeping children engaged is the key to ensuring that the more technical elements are learnt. I learn the interest of the child and base the subject matter around that.
In teaching maths, I have had most success nurturing mathematical confidence through investigation and practical application before pen is put to paper. Children need to believe maths is necessary and important to their lives.

Availability: During the school year, I am available in the evenings after 4pm and on Saturdays from 9am-4pm.
