I have a doctorate (PhD) in chemistry from Durham University. In addition, I have a First Class Honors degree from The University of Manchester. I have an extensive breadth of knowledge covering the chemical sciences as well as closely related areas (i.e. biochemistry, physical sciences, practical chemistry). Throughout my career in academia I have worked closely with students from a wide variety of backgrounds. I am currently working as a senior research scientist in Essex, England.

Personally, I remember the challenges associated with learning chemistry at secondary school and college! I am a conscientious individual who believes that teaching doesn`t have to be a chore – targets for even the most challenged students can be reached in a manner that is enjoyable and motivating. I can compliment class room working for further understanding of key areas as well as provide a base of learning to relax you in the class room environment. Whatever the goals of the student are, I am sure these can be accommodated.

Availability: I am primarily available most evenings from 17.00-22.00h.

Willing to travel: 15 miles

Experience: I have taught undergraduate chemistry students for 3 years, both in a conversational manner as well as a more formal environment (i.e. seminars). I have a solid understanding of chemistry as well as the requirements of the student for further understanding of more complex areas.

In addition, I have experience with making revision resources as well as engaging presentations from which key concepts and ideas can be understood and applied.
