Information about Fran
I am a highly qualified, experienced and successful teacher of GCSE and A Level Welsh Second Language. I have over nineteen years experience in secondary school teaching GCSE and A Level and for the last eight years I have been teaching A Level only in a sixth form college.I also have over eighteen years` experience teaching Welsh to adults in Gwent. During my career I have also given private tuition to a number of students, both first and second language Welsh, and all my students have achieved 100% pass rate.
Availability: Early evening/ weekends / school holidays
Willing to travel: 20 miles
Experience: Am able to offer tuition for all aspects of AS and A Level Welsh -project work, poetry, grammar, short stories, Welsh in society etc
Also GCSE First Language
I have constructed by own grammar course which has been particularly successful with first language students looking to improve their writing skills.

Fran is organised, friendly and very experienced with AS Second Language Welsh and so is perfect to assist my child in this subject.

Fran is very professional She emails the lesson plan to us each week and the set homework. My son finds her lesson Clear to follow and although it’s early days we feel she will improve his vocabulary and written welsh. I would recommend Fran as a first language welsh tutor

Due to recent school closures, I approached Fran to ask if she could provide Welsh conversation sessions for two primary aged children attending a Welsh language school - English is the only language spoken at home. Fran has been very flexible in her approach with both children, splitting the time between them. The sessions have taken place via zoom. She has also set tasks for the children to complete between sessions. She is warm and friendly and is working towards support both children to feel confident with this way of learning. The 8yr old has responded particularly well and it is reassuring to see his confidence growing. We will review her input in Seotember, when we find out what the school provision will be. Would not hesitate to recommend Fran and if the children require additional input in the future, we would definitely approach Fran again. Diolch 🙂;
