This summer another one of my students achieved grade 9 at GCSE making a total of 5 grade 9s. The average grade is 7 plus high A* IGCSE grades. 37 years experience as English teacher mainly in independent and grammar schools plus comprehensives I set high standards and achieve excellent results. Since retiring I`ve taught over 50 students at local schools, adults for professional examinations, students with mild dyslexia, 12+ and 16+ Entrance Exams. 15 years experience as Examiner and Moderator published 2 York Notes GCSE study guides. I teach language and literature to GCSE, A Level plus IB, IELTS & HKDSE to international students.
Current DBS status, Safeguarding Certificate and testimonials. I really enjoy meeting young people and teaching literature. I read widely and go to the theatre often.

Experience: I have taught many syllabuses for IGCSE, GCSE, A Level Literature, IB Language and Literature IELTS & HKDSE. Since retiring tutored over 50 pupils: GCSE English and Literature, A Level, adults for professional examinations, Key Stage 3 pupils plus12+ grammar and independent school 6th form entry. I teach many pupils online across the world transferring past papers & my own resources. I require payment by BACS 2 days in advance of each lesson and a deposit of one week`s tuition which is refunded as the last lesson is free. 24 hours notice for cancellation is essential in which case I will try to arrange another lesson in that week.
