Information about Michael
I am a friendly and motivated qualified teacher with international tutoring experience. I hold a First Class degree in History and German from the University of Oxford, where I received a Gibbs Book Prize for exceptional performance in my Final Examinations. I have taught with Eton College`s international tutoring programme and have experience of teaching history with pupils in Hong Kong and China. I understand the importance of supportive communication, as well as prompt feedback and explicit direct instruction in helping others to achieve their potential.
Availability: Evenings excluding Thursday. All day Saturday and Sunday morning.
Willing to travel: 5 miles
Experience: I recently graduated from the University of Oxford with a First Class degree in History and German. I therefore have a recent understanding of the Oxbridge admissions process and the importance of the History Aptitude Test.
I hold qualified teacher status and have a PGCE in History from University College, London. I am deeply familiar with the AQA GCSE History course, as well as that board`s A level German course.
I have worked as a personal tutor for EtonX, Eton College`s online learning platform, as well as a class tutor in both Hong Kong and China. I currently teach in a London secondary school, where I am also helping to design its History curriculum. The content for this curriculum is linked closely to Common Entrance, with which I am also familiar.
