I have been teaching and tutoring for the past fourteen years. The best part of my job is working with young people and I enjoy making my subject accessible to my students. It is hugely rewarding when your students achieve their potential grades and progress to the next stage of their academic life. Before teaching I worked as a research scientist at the University of Reading. During this three year period I carried out lots of scientific experiments, collected data, analysed results and wrote many research papers. I enjoyed presenting research at various conferences. Due to family commitments I left the research job and joined teaching. Good decision - have been teaching for the past twelve years and still love it.

Experience: I am a fully qualified teacher with twelve years experience of teaching and currently teaching in a high achieving secondary school. I teach all Sciences in KS4 and Chemistry for A level. I am also an examiner with AQA, Edexcel and OCR examination boards.I always plan the tutor program according to the individual needs of the student. When delivering the lessons I ensure that the student understands the scientific concepts and can successfully and independently apply them to answer the exam questions. As a teacher with examination classes and also as an examiner with various exam boards I am fully aware of the new changes in exam specification, styles of assessments grade boundaries/ UMS marks.
As a tutor I aim to ensure that the student thoroughly understands the examination content and is well prepared in exam skills to achieve the best possible grades. I am very proud of my students, who have achieved top grades mainly As and A*s in Chemistry and thereby secured their first choice for University courses.
Chemistry at A level is a very challenging subject to study but equally very exciting and rewarding. One to one help with an experienced tutor will help the student to use his/her time effectively and efficiently.
