I have 30 years secondary teaching experience in independent and state schools.I have a tried and tested track record of excellent results at GCSE and A Level over many years. My teaching is rooted in the belief that developing reading and writing skills should be inspiring and challenging.I believe that everyone has a unique and personal relationship to language and my approach supports specific individual needs.
I have been married for 31 years and I have two adult sons. I have traveled widely, worked in several sectors and went to Drama school in London after completing a BA (Hons) in Peace Studies at Bradford University. I am interested in the Arts and like to read, write and paint. I also like gardening and walking.
Availability: I can be flexible but in principle am available from 9.00-21.00hrs Mon-Fri. Depending on the circumstances, I can also work at agreed times in the evening or at weekends.

Experience: I have a BA in Peace Studies/ PGCE English/Drama/Media Studies/ Professional Acting Diploma (Webber Douglas Academy). I have 30 years experience teaching in secondary schools. I have taught English, Drama and History in State Comprehensive and Independent schools in England and Canada.I have been Head of Department (Drama) in 3 schools. I have an extensive record of excellent results (mainly A*-B/9-6) at GCSE and A Level over many years. I have taught many different exam board syllabuses. I have also done some private tutoring previously.
I can tutor English Literature A Level and GCSE; English Language GCSE/ History GCSE (some exam boards)/Drama and Theatre Studies A Level and GCSE./KS3 English

Timothy helped my daughter with Drama in preparation for her A Level mocks. He has a in-depth and broad level of knowledge of the various plays as well as assessment criteria needed by the exam boards. He went over past written work of hers and gave her additional feedback as well as providing extra resources and information that she could use to supplement the information that she had to look at ways of improving her grades. Timonthy was always well prepared and went over and beyond each session to help my daughter with whatever they had set aside to do in the session. I would recommend Timothy without hesitation .
