Information about Nazgol

I am a recent graduate from the War Studies department at King`s College London. I am currently working as a research fellow for a Yemeni NGO, my most recent work has involved writing reports on the rule of law in Yemen before the war, throughout and assessing how to rebuild the legal institutions during future peacebuilding processes. I have extensive real-life experience working in the field of human rights, with a particular focus on the Middle East region.

I worked as a part-time Politics teaching assistant at St. Xavier Sixth Form for a year, helping students prepare for their A-level exams. Last year I privately tutored a student who sat the Politics A/S exam aged 14 who excelled in her examinations.

I believe that students can achieve the best if they learn in an atmosphere of no judgement, where they are given the space to explore and interact with the material without being afraid of getting it wrong. I hope to provide an understanding, relaxed, interactive, and theme-based approach to teaching. Going through past papers, and getting the students themselves passionate about topics in order to develop their own analytical skills, as opposed to just repeating that of others.

I am more than happy to help with university essays and personal statements!

Availability: I am available all evenings during the week and also weekends.

Willing to travel: 4 miles

Experience: I have a lot of experience in the field of Politics. I have worked as an assistant researcher at Bahrain Watch for the past three years, a digital collective focusing on investigations, research, and analysis.

Additionally, I have worked for organisations such as Gulf Center for Human Rights on their legal report on laws which are used to target human rights defenders in Iran. This report will be launched at the United Nations Human Rights Council.

As well as writing as a co-editor for the Iran, Iraq and Turkey pages of the online magazine, Muftah. The magazine aims to provide English-speaking audiences with incisive analysis on countries in the Middle East and North Africa, highlighting the complex factors that shape and influence regional countries and populations. My roles at Muftah include publishing weekly blog posts on topics related to the Middle East. These pieces have varied from exploring the impact the U.S Invasion had on Iraq’s Christian minority.
