I am an experienced and fully qualified EFL/ESOL teacher. I can help you improve your English at any level, beginner to advanced - focusing on the skills you need: speaking (including pronunciation), listening with understanding, writing, reading, grammar, spelling. As a native speaker of English, I particularly like helping people improve their pronunciation and reduce their foreign accent. I can prepare students for exams, if wanted, for example Trinity and IELTS exams. I give lessons at your house if you live local to Burnham/Slough - travel is charged at 50p per mile. I charge £25 an hour (£35 for academic English/IELTS), and I find that 2-hour lessons work best at advanced levels. I can also give lessons by Zoom and email if you prefer - ask me for details. I also have a psychology degree, and experience in teaching adults with special learning needs. I can offer English and Maths tuition at Primary level for children living locally to Burnham, Slough.

Experience: I have taught in further education and at a 6th form college, and have taught adults for many years. I have several years experience of teaching adults whose first language is not English, as well as adults with physical disabilities, learning difficulties and mental health problems. I have also taught classes for native British people who want to improve their English, including spelling and grammar. I have given one to one EFL tuition at various levels from elementary to IELTS. I have recently added to my experience by working as a teaching assistant in primary schools and have taken some relevant short courses, so I can also give reduced cost tuition to local primary age children in Mathematics and English (including English as an Additional Language).
