Information about Christine
I am a very experienced primary teacher, specialising in English, Special Educational Needs, and English as an Additional Language. I also teach booster classes for Year 6 students, in preparation for their SATS.
I am happy to assess the needs of your child and provide appropriate learning support.
I work with all ages and levels of ability, and I am happy to either work from your child`s homework or plan specific lessons to develop areas where your child needs support e.g. phonics, comprehension skills.
Currently I tutor an 8 year old with specific learning difficulties and a year 9 with GCSE English. I also tutor an 18 year old in English as a Second Language. Please let me know the needs of your child when you contact me, so that I can provide the best possible support.
Availability: Please see chart - currently Monday - Thursday. I teach hourly sessions.
Willing to travel: 10 miles
Experience: I have a teaching degree (B.Ed Hons), and thirty years teaching experience in primary schools. I have the SENCO award (Special Educational Needs qualification),and training in the teaching of children new to English (EAL), also SPLD (dyslexia difficulties). I worked for the Hertfordshire 1:1 tuition scheme, and have long experience of home tutoring.

We have found Christine to be a very personable and experienced lady who gets on well with my 5 year old. She has a great deal of patience and deals well with sometimes very challenging situations!
