Information about Alasdair
Hi, I`m Alasdair and I have graduated with a 2:1 from the University of Birmingham studying Economics and Political Science in 2016. Since leaving University I worked for Citizens Advice Liverpool as a Welfare Rights Specialist. I am currently doing my masters in Psychology at Hope University with the aim of becoming a teacher in the future. I am also a qualified football referee so I try to referee at least a game every weekend.
The main reason I wanted to become a tutor is for the fulfilment of helping you achieve. I had a tutor for my Chemistry A level who helped me achieve an A. At the beginning of the year I was predicted a B in the subject. After a years worth of private tutoring I was a percentage point off an A*. I`d love to be able to help students the way my tutor did for me.
I feel confident teaching students of any age and can provide a perfect tutor-student relationship that a teacher may not necessarily be able to provide in the classroom.
The most important thing I can offer is that I have a lot of time to prepare for each session so I can tailor the learning precisely for you as I get to know you, the student.
I went through the A level process 8 years ago so will also be able to provide good, solid advice for students looking to apply for their preferred university. I can also give more general advice about the education system to help you find the right path that suits you.
Availability: My hours are very flexible. There aren`t many times I can`t do so message me for more details.
Willing to travel: 10 miles
Experience: I have been tutoring students since 2016 and have a lot of experience teaching GCSE, A-level and undergraduate degree students. The education system is fresh in my mind and I will be able to give the student every tool they need to succeed. I will give the student a broad knowledge which will not only train them for the exam, but give them the ability to excel. I believe the key for a students success is in my preparation. What a qualified teacher can give in experience, I can match in preparation. Whereas a qualified teacher may be itching to get out your door after a long day at work I will ensure you completely understand everything we`ve been through before we move on.
