Having taught English in secondary school for twenty years, I am confident in my abilities to help pupils meet their potential in this subject. Whatever it is that you are struggling with, I can help.

My particular strengths are in teaching GCSE Language and Literature. As well as this, I really enjoy working with younger pupils from Year 7 to Year 9 and can help younger pupils prepare the skills required for the years ahead.

I have a wealth of resources, model examples and knowledge in this subject area to enable the weakest of pupils to access the grades that they are seeking. For pupils that are high achievers, I am able to prompt them further and guide them in their knowledge of the subject to help them access the higher grades. Through discussion and targeted written tasks, together with the pupil, I can pinpoint areas of weakness, then work with them to make the necessary adjustments, refinements and improvements.

Furthermore, I am able to provide prompts and writing frames if they are needed for pupils who have difficulties in this subject area.

I am fully CRB checked with my school.

Availability: As a result of the pandemic, I am currently available for online lessons on Zoom after school or evenings - Tuesday to Thursday. I am also willing to teach during the holidays if required and as long as I am not away.
