I have taught English for over 20 years in four different independent schools, with several years’ experience of every level from Year 5 to Year 13. I specialise in 11+, 13+ Common Entrance and Scholarship, GCSE/IGCSE English Language and Literature, A Level English Language and Literature, and American University SATs and ACTs. I have also taught English as a Second Language and have been a Cambridge examiner. I am now a full-time specialist tutor and educational consultant.

Availability: I am offering the opportunity of regular sessions, either individually or in small groups, and more intensive exam preparation and revision courses during school holidays.

Willing to travel: 20 miles

Experience: As a head of department, I have both adapted and created schemes of work to address specific curriculum and exam syllabus requirements. As a teacher, I have developed techniques and resources for the classroom and tutoring sessions that engage the interest of the students and are adaptable to individual needs. For me, enjoyment and confidence are the key for progress.
