I am a mother of three children and know that patience and good humour are essential to helping young people succeed. I thoroughly enjoy working with all of my students and pride myself on being able to help learners realise their potential. I have a proven track record of securing the best possible grades for my students as parents and pupils alike will confirm. I work in a variety of formats: in person, online, for students being home schooled, or young actors working on films who need onset teaching.

Experience: Current Assistant Headteacher, former HEAD OF ENGLISH and EXAMINER. I am a personable and highly experienced teacher of English with a track record of securing the highest grades for students. I am currently Assistant Head (Teaching and Learning) in a large independent secondary school in the North West. My areas of expertise include A LEVEL, transition to secondary school, entrance exam preparation, KS3 English skills, IGCSE and GCSE Language and Literature, A level Language and A Level Literature, UCAS applications and OXBRIDGE preparation.

For 20 years I have thoroughly enjoyed working with young people and encouraging those who have no interest in the subject, develop excellent reading and writing skills. Even reluctant readers, with the right encouragement, can go on to excel in external exams. Furthermore, it has been a privilege to stretch and challenge the most able so that they can secure grade 9s, A* and some of the most competitive university places.

I have a flexible approach to teaching- and one to one tuition facilitates different approaches to those within the classroom. I have been an examiner for both GCSE and A level and also write and mark entrance exams. I am a founding fellow of the chartered college of teaching which allows me to continuously develop as a professional.
