Information about Dominic
I`m a full time employee at an Insurance Software company, but am free on weekends and evenings to tutor. I graduated from the University of Leeds with a First class Honours degree in BSc Mathematics. I am looking to tutor people in need of help, mostly for experience. I have a passion for teaching and because of this, I still tutor alongside my full time job. I have tutored 4 different students at different levels since 2016. I often helped friends in my year both at School and at University, whether it be helping them with homework or actually teaching them chapters from certain modules.
I got an A* in both GCSE Maths and A Level Maths, so I am pretty good at Maths and have always enjoyed it, but I also enjoy helping others. I am excellent at communicating and explaining difficult concepts and am also very confident, especially when talking about Maths which I`ve had to do all my life.
I hope you consider me when you are looking for tutors as it would be a privilege to be chosen to help you or your child with their maths related problems! Thank you very much for reading!
Availability: In the week I`m available in some of the evenings, usually after half 5. I am also available at any reasonable time on weekends. If you are unsure if I would be free or not to attend a session just ask me and I`ll clarify. I own a car so can travel to meet for our sessions. I`d also be up for group sessions if you want to invite your friends to be taught together, as it would work out cheaper per person. Again, the location is completely up to you.
Willing to travel: 15 miles
Experience: I have experience with helping students with Maths as I often would devote time when at school to help my friends with homework and just to go over any parts that they would struggle with. I taught an entire A level Maths module (D1) to a group of kids in my year as they did not like their teacher and all of them managed to do very well in the final exam! I do the same now that I am at university and have arranged study sessions around exam periods to get people to revise together as I believe working together is far more productive than struggling on your own.
I`ve tutored 2 students doing A-Level Maths for a year each, as well as a GCSE student whom I tutored for 6 months. I`ve been tutoring a 13 year old for nearly 3 years now, which I`ve been doing on weekends alongside my job.
