Information about Asha
My approach to tutoring is friendly, empathetic and extremely flexible.
Through working with a wide variety of students in a range of different environments, I have learned that every individual requires a different approach. It is my job as a tutor to understand my students and meet them in a place where they feel comfortable. From there, they are able to build up their confidence until they are achieving their goals.
I welcome students who may have special educational needs. I can provide individually tailored study support for students at any stage of education. This may be particularly useful for those who feel their needs are not being met in the mainstream classroom.
I can tutor in English, up to and including GCSE English Language and Literature. I am experienced in helping students to prepare for their GCSE exams, as well as encouraging a long-term love of reading and writing.
I can teach English as a foreign language to students of any age or level, from young children to adults. Whether you are hoping to improve your understanding of grammar, or to practise speaking more fluently in day-to-day conversation, we will approach the lessons in a way that feels relaxed and enjoyable.
Please do get in touch to discuss what you as an individual need from tutoring. I look forward to hearing from you!

Asha has been teaching our 14 years old son. She has been helping him with his written assignments and started preparing him for his GCSE exams in English and Literature. Asha is very professional, patient, motivated and can adapt her teaching style to the needs of the student. Our son`s performance in writing has improved drastically but most importantly he can now handle any writing assignment with confidence. Asha managed to take him from answering in a few words to writing long structured paragraphs. He now enjoys writing a lot. Also, she is very good at guiding students through literature, inference and complicated ideas or meanings. We highly recommend her. Thank you Asha!

Asha tutored my son last year while he was at college. He has Autistic Spectrum Disorder and has some language difficulties so writing essays and reports can be difficult and his organisational skills when writing need support. Asha provided exactly the right level of support for him - she was very patient, proactive and supportive. She was able to review any assignment and subject he had to work on and support him in his learning to make sure that he was progressing and had a good level of understanding about what he had to do. Following lockdown the weekly sessions moved online and again these sessions were very effective. Highly recommended.
