Hello! My name is Helena. I am a qualified teacher available for tutoring with children of any age or ability. I am a patient and friendly teacher.

Experience: Hello! My name is Helena. As a qualified primary teacher, I am passionate about inclusive learning for all ages, raising children’s confidence to achieve their full potential. I have been teaching in Key Stage 1 and 2 since 2015.

I am happy to tutor/home school any topic within the primary range including dyslexia support and special needs. I have taught children on the autistic spectrum successfully because of my visual, patient and friendly style to learning. I have extensive experience supporting early reading and phonics and ensure all lessons are interactive, creative and most importantly of all enjoyable for children.

I have a certificate in TEFL so I can help with learning English as a second language. I am also able to support dissertation writing, proof-reading and editing and support with teacher training/PGCE courses.

My tutoring style is focused on building a trusting relationship to ensure children feel relaxed and able to make mistakes to learn from. By doing this I quickly get to know strengths and areas for improvement to plan individual sessions.

I will travel to you for face-to-face lessons. I am completing bi-weekly lateral flow tests and will wear a mask if preferred. Online lessons are available also, however I do find engagement and impact is higher in person.
