I`ve been involved in the design and development of large enterprise systems for more than 20 years. The involvement of the relational database continues to be center stage. I have over 20 years commercial software engineering experience. Initially I wrote code in C, progressing to C++ but mostly since 1999 I`ve been writing in Java. Typically my work has been within the framework of J2EE and JEE with WebLogic and Wildfly, however I am skilled in Java SE as a standalone language including V1.8. Even though Java has been around for quite a while now it is still the primary programming language in the corporate environment and will remain so for a long time to come. Therefore it is a good bet to learn Java if you are wishing to pursue a career in the software industry.
