I am a 29 year old native English Oxford University graduate with a 2:1 level degree in Biological Sciences. I am currently living in central Cambridge undertaking a PhD at the MRC Toxicology Unit. In January of 2020 I completed my MPhil in Computational Biology in the Department of Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics at Cambridge University.

Before university I studied A level Biology (A*) Maths (A*) and History (A) as well as AS Level Chemistry at The Stephen Perse Foundation (formerly Perse School for Girls).

Subjects offered - I am comfortable with all syllabuses -

Biology:
Up to and including GCSE/IGCSE & A Level

Maths:
Up to and including GCSE/IGCSE

Chemistry:
Up to and including GCSE/IGCSE

Physics:
Up to and including GCSE/IGCSE

As well as academic subjects I can offer coaching on UCAS & university applications (particularly Oxbridge), personal statements and interview technique. I have more than 8 years of experience tutoring 1:1 and in classrooms.

I have a fully drivers license and my own car so can travel to students’ homes (travel charged additionally depending on time/distance). **dependent on COVID regulations at time of enquiry**

Before accepting new students I will always set up an initial meeting/call with the student and parents/guardians to discuss tuition requirements and logistics. These consultations are not free of charge and will be charged at the same hourly rate as tuition.

"Kate tutored our daughter for her GCSE math in Y10 and Y11. She was everything we could have hoped for in a tutor - reliable, professional, extremely able and efficient, calm and patient. She really did provide a bespoke service which perfectly fitted our daughter`s needs, and we were delighted with her end result in her GCSE. I would not hesitate to recommend Kate as a tutor to anyone looking for assistance in GCSE maths or indeed in sciences as she is equally able to provide that."

"Kate tutored my son for a little over a year. Not only did his grades and confidence improve considerably, he also seemed more organised, motivated and engaged in his studies. Kate is a fantastic tutor, she is extremely bright, reliable and friendly and really helped my son understand the content and how to structure his revision more effectively. She takes a genuine interest in her students, what their interests are and how they learn. I would definitely recommend her to anyone whose son or daughter needs extra tuition and is looking for a friendly and engaging tutor."
