I am a 25-year-old English graduate from King’s College London (First Class Honors), as well as a professional screenwriter and author. As a bookworm since childhood, I was fortunate enough to love studying English at school, and I enjoy passing this positive learning experience onto other students.

I offer English tuition from A-Level and below, as well as tuition in essay writing skills; English is about the expression of complex ideas through a streamlined analysis and I love helping my students crack the code to writing exceptional essays.

I also offer tuition for Creative Writing at all levels, from 11+ up to A-Level.

Experience: I hold a BA First Class Honors degree in English from King’s College London (English Department placed 15th in the 2019 QS World University Rankings in the world).

Upon completion of my A-Levels (A*, A*, A for English, Philosophy and Film Studies), several of my essays where recalled to help to teach future students. These essays were noted for presenting “excellent comparative analysis and fluent and precise arguments informed by substantial critical reference”.

Encouraged by this, I started to tutor for several family friends, some of whom have struggled with various learning disabilities; this included my younger brother, whose dyslexia was very extreme and who previously found reading novels to be borderline impossible, who nevertheless completed his GCSEs with an A in English.

Through helping my brother as well as my other students, I’ve concluded that the most important quality in any learner is confidence. I assess the student’s strengths and weaknesses, likes and dislikes, learning style (visual, auditory or kinesthetic), and from there aim to help build confidence in their own capacity for analysis.

English is the rare subject in which the student is generally awarded for their unique interpretation as individuals. I focus on the specific criteria and skills that examiners are looking for as a foundation, upon which the student can build their understanding. From there, I aim to create a space where they can apply the confidence we have built collaboratively during our sessions to these subjects.

Outside of my studies, I work as a screenwriter and author of fiction. I am currently developing several TV series and films of which I am the primary creative with studio support, as well as a short story and poetry anthology. I have been writing my entire life and consider English to be the most invaluable subject in terms of a person’s emotional development; stories give us empathy. They put us in the minds of other people from other cultures and other worlds, and allow us to understand both ourselves and our own world a little better.

My hope is that through hard work and structure, my students will not only master their studies by achieving remarkable results, but that they develop a deeper and more profound enjoyment of literature in the process.
