I am a qualified Science teacher currently holding the role of Lead Practionioner in Science in a local secondary school. I have worked in many outstanding schools and now am raising the standard and quality of teaching within my current role. I have setup, planned and delivered the new curriculum for Science both at GCSE and A-Level. I have experience teaching all key stages but my key strengths are dealing with exam classes, in both preparation, and conveying difficult concepts, I have excellent subject knowledge and understanding of exam technique.
As well the subject knowledge I have been a sixth form tutor and have experience in the UCAS application process in particular personal statements with a focus on Biology, medicine, and veterinary science.
I have tutored for 10 years, I am experienced, enthusiastic, organized, and diligent in the approach that I take towards my work.
I have taught all exam boards currently AQA specification for Biology in my school, but have taught OCR, Edexcel including Salters, WJEC and more.
The students I have taught have gained confidence, exam readiness and have made huge gains in performance in public exams. So much so most of my tutees are from students I who have recommended me.

We hired Chris for a taster lesson about a year ago, to help our daughter get her Science grade up. The lesson went well and Chris is obviously a good teacher. She was at a level 5 at the time, but hadn`t been doing Science since she was 10 quite some years ago, so we knew she could be helped to get a much higher grade with a weekly lesson over the next 8 months, also as she`d got 9`s in various other GCSEs she`d already taken when she was 11 we knew she should be aiming for an 8 or 9. Chris didn`t feel he wanted to take responsibility for upping her grades, he was risk averse, so we got a different tutor. She got a double nine in the end in her double-science with a tutor called Stephanie who is also on Tutor Hunt.

Chris is a very calm, thorough and diligent tutor who was able to dive straight into tutoring my daughter (Upper 6th A level Biology) on a specific topic. He is happy to travel to us or tutor online and also makes himself available to her between sessions should she have any queries or need assistance. We have not been using him for long but so far very pleased.

Christopher is extremely knowledge of the A level Biology specification and is able to deepen my son`s understanding of challenging concepts to enable him to achieve a high grade. Christopher is always well prepared and organised for each session, which my son enjoys greatly. We very much appreciate all Christopher`s efforts to enable our son to achieve his full potential.
