I am a fully qualified Secondary school maths teacher with 12 years of experience at a high performing Stockton based secondary school. I am also second in charge of the maths department with a responsibility for progress and behaviour. For year 10 and year 11 students I strongly believe experience with the GCSE mathematics course is vital for my students to make good progress via tuition. I have a strong focus on examination technique and I regularly use exam papers and questions to ensure my students are comfortable with the types of questions they would see in their exams. For students who are not sitting examinations anytime soon I like to help build confidence by supporting/extending the work currently being studied in class. I believe my job is to help my students with their issues rather than to teach them new material.

Availability: I am available Monday to Friday evenings and weekends.

Experience: I have been working as a teacher for 12 years and six years ago I was made second in charge of the maths department. My main responsibility in the department is for developing and ensuring progress and behaviour within the department. I have had a GCSE class every year since I became a teacher and I have taught students from both the foundation and the higher strands. My results have always been above national average and the progress my students have made has always been judged at either good or outstanding.
I have also been tutoring for 8 years, most students I tutor are in their GCSE year, I have a 100% pass rate for foundation students. For higher students the majority of my students have achieved strong higher only grades.
