I am currently the Head of Chemistry at a large comprehensive secondary school with 30 years teaching experience which has allowed me to pick up ways of giving lessons with clear structure and to explain difficult concepts in accessible ways, enabling students to gain maximum marks. I am currently teaching all year groups from key stage 3, key stage 4, year 12 and 13. I have been Head of chemistry for 24 years and have a proven track record of excellent results at both A level and GCSE. I have also been a personal tutor for more than 15 years.
I am a Chemistry examiner for AQA and have been marking exam papers over the past 26 years. This experience has given me a clear insight into the requirements of exam questions, what the common errors are and how to achieve maximum marks. I believe that a clear understanding of the key concepts and how to apply these to a range of exam questions is vital for success at any level. I am enthusiastic about chemistry and enjoy supporting students to make progress at all with levels.
I have experience of teaching all the specifications for A level Chemistry with AQA, OCR (salters and specification A), and Edexcel.
