I am a highly motivated and dedicated English teacher with five years of experience.

My approach to tutoring is to develop a good relationship with my students, so they feel comfortable in asking me for the specific help they require. I adopt a friendly but firm approach to teaching, as I believe this to be the most effective approach to maximise progress. I initially observe my students and then provide a well-planned programme which tailors to the needs of each student based on their skills and abilities. My aim is to work with the student in all areas where they feel they need help so that they can maximise their potential. I also recognise the strengths of the student and work to maximise this, as English is a subject which requires a broad skill set.

Furthermore, my five years of experience in teaching English has allowed me to differentiate across all abilities, ensuring all my students are able to gain an excellent understanding of all the different aspects of English.

I am particularly knowledgeable with the AQA syllabus at GCSE having tutored many students in this board with great results. I can help consolidate what is being taught at school at both levels (KS3 and KS4), as well as addressing other important areas for a broader understanding of the subject. I am keen on focusing on skills such as essay writing, spelling, punctuation and grammar as this is crucial at any level.
