Information about William
As a current University of London student, reading philosophy and being passionate about my subject I am eager to teach it. Because of the academic rigor in studying philosophy, along with my pre-existing love for English, I have developed excellent English skills: excelling in essay critique and creative writing. My education was varied, leaving school at nine years of age to be home educated until I attended Sixth Form. During this time I had a great deal of experience with private tutors, giving me a good understanding of what is expected from them and teaching styles that I have experience working.
I am an aspirational writer and journalist, running my own news blog, and with published articles, two of which have been by The Daily Telegraph. I hope to pursue writing once I graduate as a career path.
I am especially interested in Shakespeare and Alfred Tennyson when it comes to the English curriculum, while with Philosophy I enjoy the Ancient Greeks and Theological theories and ideas focusing on God Euthyphros Dilemma, Good and Evil, Divine Knowledge etc.
Don`t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions
Availability: I am available Monday through to Saturday most days and every evening.
Willing to travel: 10 miles
Experience: I have taught English as a second language as well as to students in preparation for exams and coursework. I have also taught Philosophy and English to my peers at University and Sixth form. My specialist areas include creative writing, poetry analysis, the development and structure of essays, and revision techniques.
A rapport with any student is the most important aspect of any tutor/tutee relationship, and what I will focus on first. Before establish the specific needs of the student and then addressing them. I hope to bring my own passion for English and Philosophy to the lessons, and instil in the student the same interest for their subject.
