I am a qualified teacher with a first-class Biomedical science degree and three years’ experience teaching Science in secondary school and further education college from key stage three to key stage five. Teaching gives me the chance to make a positive difference in people`s lives through education while exploring my favourite subjects. I devote my time to promoting the importance of education, I am committed to success and believe that I can make a difference to students.

My teaching style is very practical, student orientated and involves the use of models and analogies to aid understanding of abstract concepts. That said, I understand that everyone learns differently and can adapt my teaching style to your needs. Students, parents and colleagues would describe me as personable, passionate and success driven. Students find that I am approachable and encourages questioning as it demonstrates understanding. My passion for science and maths is contagious and is elucidated in my lessons. Above all I am very progress driven, my job satisfaction derives from the progress my students make overtime and their end results.

As the GCSE science coordinator at my current place of work, I have researched and developed a scheme of work inline the with new GCSE 9-1 Science course. I have access to online resources and practice questions to support students for all exam boards. My previous GCSE science class had a 100% pass rate with 70% A*-C grades. One group consisted of students who were excluded by the mainstream school system and the other group comprised of foreign students with a English language barrier. Both groups completed the entire GCSE science course from the start in nine months, compared to three years in the secondary school setting. Even with these circumstances , my students excelled and exceeded expectation. Point being, I am willing and able to ensure that students of all background and ability make excellent progress more so you have specialist one to support.
