Information about Kartik

Hi, I am a recent Physics graduate from the University of Bristol, where I have achieved a First Class degree in Physics with a final grade average of over 90%. I have been tutoring for over 7 years, and over the years I have helped students achieve higher grades, gain confidence and develop a passion for their subject, seeing this growth in my students has made me very passionate about tutoring.

From a young age, I have always been impressed by science. I was one of those kids who read a lot of science books, and those books led me to studying physics. I have a very mathematical mind, so logic and problem-solving is something that I enjoy, which is why I love studying science. I plan to do a PhD. and go into Quantum Information research in the future.

However, at the moment, online teaching is my main job, and the more that I do it, the more I find myself considering going into education instead.

Availability: Flexible, available most days most times, preferably before 7pm.

Willing to travel: Home Only

Experience: From experience, I`ve found the best way I can help a student is by teaching them how to revise and study effectively. To support this, I create personalised revision plans and homework that ensure every topic is fully understood. I was fortunate to have an excellent A-level teacher who taught me how to revise well, and I`m happy to share those skills - skills you can use in further studies.

My sessions vary depending on the subject and how each student learns best. In general, there are two types of lessons:

1) Explain & Test- When a student is struggling with a particular topic, we`ll focus the session on building understanding. I`ll first explain the topic in a conversational way, using whiteboard illustrations while we make a clear set of notes. I encourage you to ask as many questions as you can. I`ll also be asking small questions throughout to check understanding! Then I will set homework on the topic. At the start of the next session, I`ll ask a few questions to recap what we covered last time.

2)Questions & Exam Prep - Sometimes, students understand the content but struggle with exam-style questions. In these cases, we`ll focus entirely on practice - revision questions, past papers, or homework tasks. I`ll also include tricky questions that often appear in exams. I aim to guide the students to find the answers themselves, giving hints and support along the way.
