I am a graduate of Durham University and I have three years experience working in independent schools, having taught Key Stage 3 through to A-level. I have a friendly, experienced and enthusiastic approach and I really enjoy helping students achieve their potential in Music at all levels. I also obtained qualified teacher status in 2019.

In addition to my academic background, I also hold a DipABRSM qualification in piano and passed Grade 8 with distinction prior to that. Since leaving Durham in 2016, I have been teaching for four years. I worked as a freelance piano teacher in my home county of Northamptonshire for a year and then as a peripatetic teacher at Barnard Castle School, teaching one to one piano and organ lessons. I then worked for two years at Blundell`s School in Devon as a Music Teacher.

I enjoy working with students of all ages, abilities and musical backgrounds and can adjust to suit your preferred pace or approach to learning. Don`t hesitate to get in touch if this sounds like a good match or if you have any questions!

Experience:
From 2018-2020, I had the pleasure of teaching Music for two years at Blundell’s School in Devon where I was the Graduate Music Assistant and Chapel Organist, teaching Year 7 all the way to Year 13. While at Blundell’s, I completed a teaching apprenticeship and I now hold Qualified Teacher Status. At GCSE, I specialised in the composition coursework, and 40% of the 2019 cohort achieved a grade 9, with 60% achieving a grade 7-9. I really enjoyed helping students with a range of musical backgrounds and abilities improve their performance across GCSE and A-level.
