Information about Georgie
I am 24 year-old graduate from UCL. I am looking to tutor maths to anyone who needs help - of any age or standard. Happy to do regular sessions or one-off lessons.
I have studied maths at university level. I have achieved an A in FSMQ, an A* in Maths IGCSE, an A* in Maths A2 Level and an A in Further Maths A2 Level. I have been tutoring on and off for over 5 years now.
I approach lessons in a compassionate yet thorough manner. I want to encourage students to think for themselves and suggest topics and questions to cover that they need help on. This often includes going beyond the curriculum. If they appear shy to do this I will of course provide encouragement. I really strive to promote an appreciation for maths, and hope that my students enjoy the lessons I spend with them, as this is paramount to me, along with making improvement for their capability.
Availability: I offer both in-person and online sessions, whatever is most convenient for you and what you feel most comfortable doing, given the circumstances. I am flexible with times and we can work something out that`s best for both of us.
This is an excellent time of year to hire a tutor, to address weak points in the syllabus ahead of exams, particularly given missed or rushed elements due to hybrid teaching over the pandemic.
Willing to travel: 2 miles
Experience: I have over 5 years of experience tutoring. Prior to January 2017 (when I went travelling for 5 months), I would tutor numerous children on a weekly basis, between the ages of 5 and 18. This included Primary, KS2, KS3, GCSE and iGCSE, common entrance 11+ and 13+, AS level, and entrance tests for UK and US universities. Since then, I have been tutoring ad-hoc in holiday times and especially around school exam times.
I have helped many students accelerate and boost their grades, which is incredibly rewarding to see, as I understand GCSE and A-Level results are very important for later progression in further education and the job market.

Georgie was a great help to my daughter in explaining in a clear way the specific areas of the maths GCSE syllabus where she lacked confidence. She was very willing to go through practice questions with her, and was always contactable with any questions. She was always friendly and professional. Thank you Georgie!
