I am a friendly and approachable Final Year Medical Student at Imperial College London. Having tutored for 5 years I have amassed experience of many different types of students across a broad range of subjects. I love teaching and take huge pride in my work.
It is exceptionally important in teaching to tailor the tuition on an individual basis ensuring the needs of the student are assessed and addressed appropriately. My approach is to explain concepts in a simple way and to develop an understanding with which to build on. In my experience it is vital to work with my student and understand how they learn best, therefore together we can create a plan to push them to do the best they can. This will involve me constantly adapting my style as a teacher, ensuring my students always get the best tuition I am able to provide.
I am a patient tutor and understand that there is a lot of stress associated with exams. It is a natural part of exam taking, but if not dealt with appropriately can have serious consequences. Dealing with the stress is therefore a large part of how I ensure my student will achieve to the best of their abilities. Hence it is vital to build a strong relationship with my tutees, and to ensure that they can always speak honestly and openly with me. This helps to foster the best environment for learning. My aim is to instil a passion for learning which will stay with them throughout their lives.
I have 9A*`s at GCSE`s and have achieved A*`s in all my subjects at A level gaining full UMS in many papers. I have a 1st class degree in Business Management from the Imperial College Business School. I also have a wide extracurricular academic record, having achieve gold in the chemistry olympiad and silver in the biology olympiad. I also achieved gold in the senior maths challenge and have competed in multiple team challenges for my various schools. I am particularly interested in Biology and would love to pass on the information I have learnt whilst studying Medicine. I find the human body fascinating and am always seeking to understand more. I really enjoy tutoring Maths as I find it is all about understanding and turning it into an enjoyable experience for the tutee gives me great satisfaction as a tutor. I am also happy to tutor further maths. I have continued to study Spanish at University and have completed my level 5 horizons course, this is advanced Spanish beyond A level and into degree level. I gain real enjoyment from English and am an avid poet, hence I find it thrilling to teach.
Regarding the Entrance Exams, I am happy to tutor both UKCAT and BMAT and help prepare for Medical Interviews. I am keen on showing how these differ from other subject interviews and that the approach taken for Medicine must be different. Furthermore BMAT and UKCAT are very different types of exams as to what most people will have experienced in the past and it is really important to understand how to approach these. I achieved very highly in both and would be happy to pass on any help I can on them.
I am willing to travel, but would ask for travel expenses. Furthermore I am happy to do the first session at a cheaper rate.
