I am an Ofsted & ISI outstanding English Teacher and A level Examiner with over 20 years teaching experience in secondary schools and the further education sector. A highly successful former Head of English at two leading public schools, I have a track record of enabling my students to achieve consistently excellent results (eg. 2016/17 89% A*-B at A level & 60% A.A GCSE). I passionately believe that with the right approach all young people can achieve more than imagined. In the past five years, six of my students secured places to read English at Oxbridge.

I am of the firm opinion that all young people are capable of more than they thought possible. Over the course of my career I have had the privilege of working with young people in a variety of educational settings. One message has become crystal clear - confidence is educational gold dust. Time & again I have witnessed the growth that young people undergo when equipped with the right skills and mind-set. An excellent education offers all young people the potential to one day become change-makers and it is this degree of self-belief that I seek to instil in the students I teach.​;;

Experience: From 8-18+ KS2, KS3, Common Entrance & Scholarship, 11+, GCSE English Language and English Literature (all examination boards), A level English Literature (all examination boards), IB Lit A, Oxbridge ELAT and interview practice.
