Information about John
I love maths and science and enjoy inspiring others, and I`m flexible and informal in my approach. I have been tutoring maths for 20 years, and have worked with both state school and home-educated pupils. Often it`s a case of filling in the gaps that have come about from missed school or relocation, as well as help with preparation for GCSE`s and other exams. I`m good at grasping and conveying the essence of each subject, and at making sure the fundamentals are well understood. I respect the student`s speed of learning. I have also recently worked at a small alternative school, teaching small classes with students of varying abilities.
I tutor children and adults of any age and ability, and students are invariably relieved to find themselves more at home with maths.
Availability: Afternoons and evenings, but am flexible and can do some mornings. Also weekends possible.

Experience: 20 years of maths tutoring. Also used to help run an educational centre, providing arts and crafts activities and themed family holidays. Currently teaching maths at the South Devon Steiner school.

John taught maths to my daughter for two months. She was very pleased with her online lessons, he made her feel at ease and explained all of the topics in detail. My daughter has passed her GCSE with a grade four and is very pleased with the result. A big thank you to John.
