I have worked with students of all abilities and, in all my classrooms, I have established a positive learning environment where students are independent, take pride in their learning and make good progress in every lesson. I can engender a positive relationship with students through mutual respect and understanding. As a positive role model and proactive teacher, I truly believe I can make a difference and promote a love for learning.

Experience: As an English teacher, I believe that building oracy skills is incredibly important to allow students to articulate their ideas in the best way possible and be able to express their ideas in a sophisticated manner. When I teach non-fiction texts, I focus on making the ideas presented in the book relevant by applying this idea to the modern world, so students understand and come to appreciate the literature. I have high expectations of all the students I teach and ensure tasks are scaffolded and differentiated, so abstract or challenging ideas can be accessed by all.
