Information about Sam

Economics can be a challenging subject, but it doesn’t have to be. As a Cambridge Economics graduate with over 850 hours of professional tutoring experience, I`ve helped countless students just like you achieve top grades.

It took me hundreds of hours, and a lot of trial and error, to figure out the systems to ace the exams. My mission is to provide students with the tools so they can accelerate their progress and achieve their full potential.

Economics requires a medley of skills, from essays to data interpretation. I`ll equip you with the skills and knowledge you need to excel. This process involves focused revision, repeated testing, detailed feedback, and frequent questioning. These methods enable us to improve your grade fast, taking you along the shortest path to the top.

Here are 3 examples of the questions I use to help students improve their writing:

◉;;; Would you say what you have written aloud in a presentation or conversation?

‍;;;◉;;; Would your teacher articulate this idea in the same way?

◉;;; Would someone younger than you, without specific subject knowledge, understand your argument?

I also use real-world examples and data to bring topics like moral hazard to life. Moral hazard is the tendency to take more risk when protected from the consequences. In past lessons, we`ve applied the idea to boxing headgear. The theory is that boxers may protect their heads less with extra padding around them. This risks higher rates of concussion, which is the finding of several academic papers. Indeed, the research on this topic led to the removal of headgear for men at the Olympic games in Rio, 2016.

3 Secrets to Success

★;;; Professional Care
Independent examiners mark any past papers completed for homework. This provides a second point of reference and valuable insights for students.

★;;; Productivity Hacks
We use scientifically backed study methods to maximise efficiency outside of lesson time. This includes methods such as ANKI, Quizlet and google chrome extensions. The result is less time studying and better marks.

★;;; Software and Tech
We conduct lessons on zoom, where I share my screen so we can work through problems together as a team. I also use Bitpaper, a premium online interactive whiteboard. Finally, we use google sheets to track results, analyse weaknesses and plan lessons.

I genuinely love helping students acquire the tools to achieve their goals. If you would like any help, please reach out!

If only interested in the trial, please still get in touch! You`ll come out with a structured system in place to navigate the exams ahead and I`ll have been able to help one more person on their academic journey :)

Sam quickly established a rapport with our Son and was able to help establish the gaps in his A level Economics knowledge. This meant sessions were productive with rapid feedback given in terms of exam question practice
