Oak

My name is Oak. I am a second-year university student at the University of Birmingham studying towards a BA Geography degree. I am incredibly passionate about my subject and motivated to helping others achieve the grades they deserve! I am very friendly and approachable and will be available for my students out of tutoring hours for any questions or queries.

Availability: In light of the current Covid-19 Pandemic, I am available for online teaching only, until this passes. Once the government restrictions are eased I will be available for both online and mobile tutoring. I am available Monday to Friday for afternoon and evening sessions and Saturday to Sunday at any time of the day.

Experience: I have provided tutoring for both English Literature and Geography to GCSE students. I achieved an A* in both subjects at GCSE and progressed to study Geography at A-level and Degree. I have a wide breadth of knowledge in both Human and Physical Geography. Having been through the examinations myself, I believe I offer my students invaluable advice and `must-have` examination and revision techniques.

I strive to get the best results as possible for my students by following the exam board specification. I prepare tutoring sessions for the ability and needs of my student. I am also available between tutoring sessions if my student may have any questions or would like to clarify some points from the lesson. Once I have explained the theory, I will talk through the exam questions listing all the key objectives and required information.

My previous students have praised my explanations but also my note-taking. This is something I believe strongly in. I like to make notes prior to the session, on the topics we will be covering. These notes will tick all the criteria of the specification. Once the session is completed I will share these notes with my students as a resource for future learning and revision. I not only help to explain any difficulties or progress knowledge in certain areas of the curriculum but also generate a bank of revision tools. These notes my students will be able to refer back to at a later date.
