Information about Jay
Hi, I`m a 1st year medical student at the University of Bristol and hope to be a doctor one day. I grew up in Birmingham where I completed my GCSEs and gained a scholarship to do the International Baccalaureate Diploma (internationally recognised A-Levels) at King Edwards School. I achieved 8 GCSE A*s (including English, Maths, and all 3 sciences) and equivalent of over 4 A*s in my diploma in English, Spanish, Maths, Economics, Chemistry and Biology. Besides academics, I have played football from a young age and have represented my county as well as playing for West Bromwich Albion Youth Academy. I have also been part of the Great Britain BMX team for the past 5 years, won multiple national races and have competed at multiple World Championships.
Availability: Monday-Friday: I am always available after 5:00pm. However, due to changing timetables, I am often available at earlier hours.
Saturday-Sunday: I am fully flexible over weekends.
Willing to travel: 5 miles
Experience: I have been part of a Summer Camp run for young children for the past 2 years. This involved helping academically talented children to realise their true potential in a fun environment.
During my time as a sixth former, I took part in a personal mentor programme to younger pupils. I mentored pupils from year 8 up to year 11.
Both of these experiences have enabled me to help students from the age of 10 up to 16 in a professional environment and have been extremely rewarding.
As well as my experience at schools, I am the oldest child of 4 with ages ranging from 4 to 18. I tutored my brother for the grammar school entrance exam when he was in year 6 (he is now a year 7 pupil in one of Birmingham`s top grammar schools).
