Information about Alp
My name is Alp , and I am an 18-year-old student studying Philosophy, Politics and Economics (PPE) at Kings College London. I recently achieved A*AB in A-Level Geography, Economics, and Maths respectively, despite facing extenuating circumstances during my studies a reflection of my determination, resilience, and strong academic ability. At GCSE, I achieved seven Grade 8s, two Grade 7s, and one Grade 5, demonstrating a consistent record of high achievement across a range of subjects.
I have extensive tutoring experience, having worked with students from Key Stage 1 through to A Level at Prime Tuition, where I helped learners strengthen their understanding, improve exam technique, and build confidence in their studies. In addition to this, I have also volunteered as a tutor and mentor, supporting younger students both online and in person. These roles have allowed me to develop a student-centred approach that focuses on making learning engaging, accessible, and tailored to each individuals goals.
I am passionate about helping students reach their full potential by creating a positive and supportive learning environment. Whether improving foundational skills or refining advanced exam techniques, I aim to help each student gain both confidence and academic success.
Availability: I am available Monday to Friday from 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm, and I offer full-day availability on weekends, allowing me to be highly flexible and accommodating to each students schedule.
Willing to travel: 5 miles
Experience: I am currently a Maths tutor at a tuition company, where I teach small groups of students aged 5 to 18. This role has strengthened my ability to adapt my teaching style to suit different age groups and learning abilities, while helping students develop confidence and a deeper understanding of key mathematical concepts.
Previously, I completed work experience as a teaching assistant at Avondale Park Primary School, where I supported children from diverse backgrounds and with a wide range of abilities. During this time, I gained valuable experience working with students who have special educational needs, developing patience, empathy, and effective strategies to support their learning.
In sixth form, I was selected to serve as Head Boy, a role that involved mentoring younger students from Year 7 to Year 13. I provided guidance on both behavioural and academic challenges, fostering a positive and supportive school environment. This experience enhanced my communication and leadership skills, and deepened my commitment to helping students reach their full potential.
