**In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, I would like to offer tuition via Zoom. Although schools may close soon, the SQA is at this stage still planning to hold examinations this year**

My name is Finlay and I am a 28 year old, friendly and enthusiastic science tutor from Newton Mearns, near Glasgow. I tutor Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics up to Advanced Higher level. I have BSc (Hons) in Chemical Physics, MSc in Nanoscience, a PhD in Chemical Physics and current works. I have over 550 hours of one-to-one tuition experience and have spent a lot of time supervising students in laboratories over the years.

I am passionate about helping young minds achieve their potential, and aid in setting them up for future study and careers. I take part in Glasgow Science Festival, am a STEM Ambassador and love inspiring the next generation of scientists.

I work in academia, so I can provide advice and guidance about the nature of scientific research and its applicability as a career option. I can also provide critical advice on applications to university and writing personal statements.

Availability: Weeknights after 5:30pm
Weekends

Willing to travel: 8 miles

Experience: I have just completed a PhD in Chemical Physics at the University of Glasgow, have a BSc Hons degree, an MSc and have been working as a researcher for the past year. During my degrees I studied a broad range of subjects in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Electrical and Biomedical Engineering.

I have tutored many primary, secondary and undergraduate university students in the past, but focus on those who are working towards their National Fives and Highers to get them into University.
