Information about Lesley
I have been a Primary School teacher for fifteen years. I am currently working as a SENCo in a primary school where I have been working for five years. Previous to this I taught in a church school for ten years. I have taught all Year groups in primary school from Year 1 to Year 6 including Year 2 SATS and Year 6 SATS.
I have a PGCE and a Master`s Degree in Education as well as the National SENCo Award.
I have two children myself both at university.
I am passionate about developing teaching and learning methods that suit the child.
Outside of school I have been a cub leader and Sunday School teacher also.
Availability: I am available in the evening after 5 o`clock except Wednesdays when I am available after 3.
I am available at weekends.
Willing to travel: 10 miles
Experience: I have experience of teaching both class / intervention groups and 1:1. I have experience in teaching children with dyscalculia and dyslexia as well as having experience of teaching children who may require more personalised learning methods.
I have spent a number of years in Key Stage 1 where I have experience of teaching Phonics (which I specialised in for my Masters Degree) and preparing children for the Key Stage 1 SATS and Phonic screening.
I have taught all year groups in Key Stage 2 including preparing children for Key Stage 2 SATS.
As a SENCo I have experience of carrying out assessments and preparing plans to support learning.
As Maths lead and Reading lead I have led teachers in developing different teaching methods in their classroom.
I am an Autism Lead Practitioner.
