I love learning about the past, exploring language and literature and sharing my knowledge of both.

I have been teaching for 14 years, and beforehand spent two years working in Archaeology.

I like to share my passion with my students to help them progress in their learning. I take a friendly and relaxed approach to make sure everyone I teach can progress at a pace suited to them, and can see their achievements each session. I like to ensure that students are exam-ready, and will introduce and regularly use exam style questions each session, based on the specification being followed. Each session I tend to set some homework such as reading, in readiness for the following session. This enables me to enhance evaluation and analysis skills during our time together key skills for attaining good grades. Outside of our sessions, I make sure any marking is completed ready for giving feedback face-to-face, and that sessions are well planned and resourced. I can be available via email for any queries between sessions.

Availability: I am available Monday -Friday between 0900-1430. I also work Monday and Thursday evenings between 1700-2100.

Experience: I have taught many different specifications for both History and English, and I am an examiner for GCSE history with AQA and Edexcel. I am also a Team Leader for Edexcel A-Level coursework moderation, so have excellent knowledge and understanding of what makes high-level exam and essay responses.

I am also qualified to teach Citizenship, Geography, Humanities, Politics and Archaeology up to GCSE level, and can teach English Functional Skills.
