I have been a qualified primary teacher for 8 years now and have been at my current school for 6 years. I was part of the team who took the school from GOOD to OUTSTANDING 5 years ago which has remained.
I love to build excellent rapports with children in order to push them to their learning potential. I went to University and completed an English Literature degree and then went on to study a postgraduate certificate in education where I achieved distinction. I support children in their learning by assessing what they can already do and building on what they are struggling with by trying to make learning fun and teaching them easier methods or ways of doing things.
Availability: Only weekends.
Some evenings.
I have two children now and have no childcare during the week other than after 7pm ONLINE tuition.
Willing to travel: 4 miles
Experience: I am currently teaching in year 2 in a job share as I now only work part time. I have experience teaching in year one up to year six however Y3 and Y4 is where my most experience is.
I have worked with a wide range of children from different backgrounds and special educational needs.

Katie has been teaching my son (6 years old) for the last three months. Katie has a very unique style of teaching – especially very good in motivating, skillful in identifying developmental needs and adapts teaching methods according to my son’s level of understanding. She is very punctual, pays full attention to my son and flexible in date and time arrangements where necessary. She is capable of teaching multiple subjects (English + Maths + General Studies) which is very useful for us too. We have been looking for a teacher like her for a long time and very pleased to say that finally we have found Katie and hopefully will continue.
