I have taught English for decades to age groups ranging from primary to undergraduate, in classes and to individuals, in comprehensive schools, private schools, colleges and the Open University. I have also acted as an examiner for International Baccalaureate and AQA.
I am a published novelist, with a trilogy for Orion currently in process. I hold PhD in Creative Writing from Lancaster University and I have written and performed at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. I retain an active, lifelong interest in theatre.
I continue to educate because my enthusiasm for teaching has never waned. I have had a positive effect on the lives of hundreds of pupils. I particularly excel in the teaching of Shakespeare, rendering it accessible and intelligible for all abilities and age groups.
Following a visit to Zimbabwe in 2010, my belief in the importance of education for the individual and for society led me to set up a charity which has so far funded the learning of seventeen children who would have otherwise remained illiterate.
I am also a keen competitive horse rider and have owned and bred horses for over thirty years. I currently share my rural farm house with a whippet and two cats.

I`ve taught English and English Language at A level, GCSE and International Baccalaureate. I`ve taught Drama and Theatre Studies to he same levels. I`ve taught in comprehensive schools, private schools, sixth form colleges and colleges of F.E.
I`m good at it - but most importantly, I make it fun! It`s not just about what you learn, it`s about wanting to learn it.
