Information about Richard

I can teach every Math module in GCSE and every available topic in A-level Mathematics and Further Mathematics ranging from D1-D2, M1-M3, S1-S3, FP1-FP3 and C1-C4 with extreme detail.

I have been drawn into Mathematics at a young age. i had the capability of understanding GCSE material at the age of 8. This allowed me to excel in my preferred field and allow me to undertake it as a Degree.

I am currently taking a MSc in Astrophysics and Astronomy in Queen Mary University

During my Degree, I took a Project in schools where my Project lies on making Maths fun by attempting to introduce Physical Movement to induce their attention into learning. This project allowed me to achieve a First in my Degree.

After my degree, i joined with the OR society which further enhanced my knowledge in teaching. Their goal was to introduce a new type of maths, known as Decision Maths in A-level, to GCSE students

Availability: weekends (weekdays are dependant on location and time after 7pm)

Willing to travel: 5 miles

Experience: I have been teaching for 7 years with students who range from year 9 to First Year University Math undergraduates.

My method of teaching through befriending and getting to know the student strengthens their ability to concentrate further. This method allows the student to get comfortable with me which lets them see me as a friend while maintaining the teacher persona and keep teaching professional. I have been attempting to try this method out for the past two years when I visit schools for a university Project in gaining the students attention during class and improve their grades.

Each student is unique. I have taught students from all backgrounds with a wide range of issues, whether it is dyslexia to just not able to grasp the concepts of fractions. Through my years of teaching, i have been able to adapt my teaching to what suits them. This is evidence through the teacher training i have gone through during my University Experience.

I mentioned that i taught First Year undergraduates Mathematics. I was in second year teaching them Calculus and was given an opportunity to teach 80 students in a lecture hall.

I have also been sent to a number of school for a Math Roadshow which tries to get students into choosing Mathematics as an A-level module.

Furthermore, I have also been fortunate enough to take part in a Project to introduce a new type of Maths in local schools of Greenwich. This Project was manipulating advanced Mathematics into a simple form and successfully teaching it to the younger generation.

We never actually used Richard, the student decided not to have tuition, but Richard was very pleasant to communicate.
