I have more than twenty years` experience as a class teacher and tutor. I particularly enjoy working with children who are anxious or need some extra help to fulfil their potential in the classroom. My school-based work has included 1:1 Pupil Premium tuition, ranging from Reception to Year 6, including SATs preparation. I also enjoy supporting children through the transition to secondary school. My approach is to cultivate confident learners using games and practical activities to develop a thorough understanding of the concepts involved. I work with children to discover gaps in learning which are easily missed in a classroom environment.
I am also a keen musician and very much enjoy using my skills to pass on my love of music-making to children and adults.

Availability: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday (not eve), Friday, Saturday(am).

Experience: I have been a primary school teacher since 1994. I have worked as a full-time and part-time class teacher, and also have experience in one-to-one support as a Pupil Premium teacher across the entire primary age range. I have several years experience in helping to prepare Year 6 pupils for SATs tests, particularly anxious pupils or those who need extra support or extra time in tests.
I also have more than ten years` experience in teaching oboe, piano(particularly beginners and up to Grade 5), recorder and preparation for Music Theory exams.
I hold an enhanced DBS certificate for children`s work at my church.
