Information about Oytun
Professional maths tutor with 1st-class Mathematics degree and teacher training from the University of Oxford. I specialise in primary, secondary and A-level maths.
From experience I have found that confidence is a key issue for many students; I work patiently with them to build this over time. I tailor my lessons specifically for each student. For primary school and Year 7 students I make maths more fun, creative and engaging. I will often use real-life examples such as dividing sweets for ratios. With Year 8-11 students lessons are more focused on the school syllabus, particularly the new curriculum as several A-level topics have been moved down to GCSE. My A-level tutoring focuses on exam-style techniques and targeted revision.
In addition to traditional face-to-face tutoring, I also provide tailored homework for each of my students after every lesson - I have found this to be key in helping students retain what they have learned.
Availability: I am happy to tutor online as it is something I am very experienced in. In addition, I offer the first lesson free-of-charge as a trial lesson to see if the lessons are the right fit.
Willing to travel: 10 miles
Experience: Previously taught maths as a classroom teacher in two local Oxfordshire schools, I now work as a private tutor full-time. I have five years experience as a tutor with a 100% success rate of students achieving their target grade or higher.

Oytun is an excellent tutor who listens and encourages gradual development, resulting in greater confidence and achievement. Oytun is easy to get on with and makes Mathematics interesting which allowed my son to appreciate the subject and rise to the challenges in order to achieve a better result at GCSE. Thank you Oytun for your valued commitment, interest and genuine dedication.

I didnt think he was a brilliant tutor. On the day that I came to his address, he gave me the wrong one and wasted half my time. Also when it came down to teaching, I thought he wasnt really a skilled teacher. When it came down to showing me the questions, he simply tried to divert the subject and told me to figure it out on my own, which I found very discouraging. I felt further insulted when he told me to treat this as exam conditions which I already do know on th day and only simply wanted to know from him on how to resolve the harder maths question. Hence I will not be using him any further. Thanks.
